Step 1: Download IDM software using the address below-

Note: If you have already installed the IDM software on your Windows PC then make sure that you are using the updated version. To update the software Open Internet Download Manager then go to help and click “Check for updates”.

Step 3: After successfully installing the latest version go to “Options”.

Step 4: Now a small window will pop up. Here you will see many options. You need to check-mark the “Use advanced browser integration”.

Step 5: Here you will see one more option “Capture downloads from the following browsers”. You need to checkmark “Google Chrome” from the list.

After applying these settings click Ok.

Copy and paste the line above into your Chrome browser’s URL bar.

This will open the extension page as shown in the image below-

Step 2: If the IDM extension is already available here, you can remove it. Just click the “Remove” button near the extension.

Step 3: Now Go to the file explorer of your computer (by clicking My Computer or This computer icon on the desktop).

Step 4: After this go to the C drive and open the folder named “Program Files (x86)”.

Step 5: Now open the “Internet Download Manager” folder.

Step 6: In this folder, you will find crx or IDMGCExt file.

Step 7: Now drag and drop the crx file to Google Chrome’s extension page that you just opened in the first step.

Step 8: After this Chrome will show you a warning message, here click on “Continue” to add the Chrome extension manually.
